Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority or more commonly known as SEWA is a huge service provider in the region. As the Emirates of Sharjah had witnessed a huge expansion and tremendous growth under the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qassimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the SEWA has also progressed to match the pace. The objective and vision of SEWA are to provide excellent services to their customers with the highest security and safety standards. The SEWA is responsible for energy productions, distribution and management. Apart from the energy sector, the SEWA is also providing water supply services and piped natural gas services for the Emirates of Sharjah. Apart from their operations, the SEWA is also reputed for their highly advanced technological solutions and up-to-date facilities. Managing the energy distribution, production and supply at maximum efficiency is one of the great achievement of SEWA.
Apart from that SEWA always succeeded in full filing the ever-growing needs of the Emirates due to its tremendous expansion and the vastness of the area. The Emirate of Sharjah, is continuously expanding and the government and the residents are investing heavily in both domestic and commercial sectors, but the SEWA never ever failed to fulfil the ever-growing demand. SEWA is always one step ahead in bringing the new innovations and latest technologies to improve their operational efficiency and to promote the vision of digitalization. In this front, the SEWA is also one step ahead from others by offering digital services and replacing the more traditional practices with the digital and modern approaches.
SEWA had decided to upgrade their inspection department. For that there was a need of a smartphone application which should be used by each and every inspector who is visiting a subscriber/customer either domestic or commercial, then the inspections were also done on different facilities, generators, grids, distribution centres and other SEWA installations. RSI Concepts – a mobile application development company, was given the responsibility to understand the objectives and requirements of the application and then propose a solution which suits best. Thankfully due to our experience, knowledge and skills we have successfully proposed a solution which was not only satisfying the needs but also providing some other tools which could further improve the outcome of the application. SEWA has awarded the project to us, and a rapid development process was initiated, during the development process, all the updates were shared with the project management team from SEWA and finally, the full application was developed and tested by both teams from RSI Concepts and from SEWA.

The UAT was conducted under strict monitoring and scrutiny, thankfully the application was accepted and well appreciated. The advanced features and tools in the SEWA Inspection Mobile Application were very helpful for the inspectors and for the management too. The whole data was digitalized, gathering and uploading information to the central information centre was done just in few taps, and the project management team and the inspectors were very satisfied with the performance and usability of the mobile application.
